Course Description
Due to the success and popularity of our original 4-hour program, this expanded 8-hour Hands-On Training (HOT) course was developed to provide students with additional repetitions, more advanced practical applications, and increased scenario-based problem solving related to low angle rope rescue emergencies.
This course is designed to build upon the concepts introduced in the original program while placing an even greater emphasis on hands-on skill stations, realistic rescue evolutions, teamwork, and operational efficiency. Students will spend the majority of the day working through practical rope rescue problems and low angle rescue scenarios designed to replicate real-world fireground and technical rescue incidents.
The course focuses on practical field applications for firefighters and rescuers operating in low angle environments such as embankments, ravines, ditches, industrial areas, construction sites, and off-road rescue locations. Students will refresh and reinforce rope rescue fundamentals while increasing confidence and familiarity with rescue equipment and operational decision making.
This is not a lecture-heavy class. The emphasis of this program is repetition, movement, communication, teamwork, and realistic hands-on training designed to sharpen operational readiness and reinforce rescue fundamentals that directly translate to the street.
