Emergency Response Diver – 1

Course Description

This 32 hour course will train successful candidates in the basic skills necessary for participation in limited open water public safety diving activities. The ERD I Diver will be able to operate as a team member and support person within a dive team organization. This student will graduate with certification from Emergency Response Divers International with ERD-1 Public Safety Diver Technician / Drysuit (If provided by student) and Full Face Mask. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, ERD I Divers may engage in basic public safety
diving activities without direct supervision. Graduates may also participate in limited
application recovery/rescue operations, providing that:
1. The ERD I Diver operates under the supervision of a team supervisor.
2. Operations are limited to 18 Metres/60 Feet in depth.
3. Operations are conducted in conditions consistent with his training.
4. Dive profiles are kept within no decompression limits. Student pre-requisites: Open Water Dive Certification

Equipment & Training Props

  • Student Equipment / PPE: BCD, Scuba Drysuit (If desired) Wetsuit, Regulator, Fins, Mask, any department specific dive gear the student would like to be trained on. If student wishes to be certified in drysuit Operations, The student needs to supply a operational scuba drysuit for use in the class.
  • Host Agency Equipment / Props: Host agency provides the following: Access to a swimming pool, Dive site no deeper than 40 feet with limited visibility, Classroom, Breathing Air Fill Station. Student provides the following: BCD, Scuba Drysuit (If desired) Wetsuit, Regulator, Fins, Mask, any department specific dive gear the student would like to be trained on. If student wishes to be certified in drysuit Operations, The student needs to supply a operational scuba drysuit for use in the class. Vendor provides the following: Items for underwater recovery – Firearm, Body, Knife. Scuba Full Face Masks and Communications equipment
