Course Description
The 16 hour ERDI Diving in Contaminated Water Ops Component is one of the most challenging public safety diver training programs. Students must demonstrate proficiency of all contaminated water skills and techniques, a high level of awareness and a proper attitude prior to certification. Dives incorporate hazard recognition and handling, use of specialized equipment. Course Objectives: 1. Satisfactorily complete the ERDI Contaminated Water Diving Operations written exam with a minimum score of 80 percent and 100 percent remediation.
2. Perform all land, pre-dive, in-water and post-dive drills correctly and efficiently.
3. Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution.
4. Maintain an appropriate level of awareness and respect for the contaminated water
environment.
5. Log all dives. Student pre-requisites: Public Safety Diver Certification / Drysuit / Full Face Mask Certification

Equipment & Training Props
- Student Equipment / PPE: BCD, Scuba Drysuit, Regulator, Fins, Mask, Redundant Air Source (Doubles or pony) any department specific dive gear the student would like to be trained on. If student wishes to be certified in drysuit Operations, The student needs to supply a operational scuba drysuit for use in the class.
- Host Agency Equipment / Props: Host agency provides the following: Dive site no deeper than 40 feet with limited visibility, Classroom, Breathing Air Fill Station. Student to provide the following: BCD, Scuba Drysuit, Regulator, Fins, Mask, Redundant Air Source (Doubles or pony) any department specific dive gear the student would like to be trained on. If student wishes to be certified in drysuit Operations, The student needs to supply a operational scuba drysuit for use in the class. Vendor provides the following: Items for underwater recovery – Firearm, Body, Knife. Scuba Full Face Masks and Communications equipment
